My name is Jaime Hansen and I am the STEM Specialist here at Canyon Springs STEM Academy.  I have taught grades Kindergarten and 5th grade at CS and as a Reading Specialist, 1st grade and 2nd grade teacher over my career.  I was raised in Cave Creek, AZ and completed my undergrad at Northern Arizona University.  After a short time teaching, I went back and earned my Masters in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Emphasis from NAU.  After my son Riley was born I went back to school and earned my Masters of Information Resources and Library Science from the University of Arizona.  My daughter Ashley was born in 2007 and I decided to teach closer to home.  I have taught in Deer Valley Unified School District for 8 years.  I have taught overall over 15 years.  I am truly a lifelong learner.  I love to take classes and learn how to best meet the needs of my students. I am currently working on my National STEM Certification through NISE: National Institute for Science Educators.   I have been married to my husband Tory who I met at NAU for over 20 years.  I am looking forward to an amazing year with your child!
